Change in fascia will reflect in changes of shape of the equines body, effecting the functioning of the blood vessels and the nerves , this would at large effect the locomotion of the entire body, this could course a shortend stride, lacking movement, tightness in extreme case lameness, this fascia would need to be released so your equine can perform his work and be without discomfort or pain. Myofascial release is an excellent therapy for any horse at any level, any human that has had the pleasure of having Myofascial release performed on them, will admit, there is most amazing sensations working around your organs, I have had the pleasure to have had this experience whilst studying in the UK, and it really works wonders.
